Kingdom Work - Juli Winter
Have you ever felt like serving in ministry is reserved for leaders of the faith, who have mastered the ways of Jesus? I have! So when I felt a gentle nudge in my heart to start servingin children’s ministry my immediate response was – “Ha! I’m not a sanctified teacher or angelic baby whisperer!”
But God is so faithful. Immediately after shyly offering to start serving, God revealed how the gifts I have can be utilized. Even in the situations where I still don’t feel good enough, God works.
Now, my question for you is; where is God calling you to serve? How can you lean in, even if it feels scary?
There are so many ways to get involved in the Kingdom work, especially at Hope City. Whether it’s serving in children’s ministry, joining the prayer team, being a greeter, starting a regular tithe, making coffee, or anything that’s needed. I want to encourage you to take just one next step in joining the Kingdom work.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if the church was overwhelmed with volunteers who have open hands and hearts desiring to do the work of God? I know it is easy to just attend church, but God doesn’t always call us into what’s easy. He says this through Peter in 1 Peter 4:10-11, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
Amen!
