Volunteer & Support Opportunities

There’s a place for everyone to make a difference in the lives of foster children, families, and those who serve them. Whether you have a few hours or want to commit more regularly, we invite you to step in with love, support, and hope. Explore the opportunities below and see where your heart might lead you.

Foster Parents’ Night Out (FPNO)

Foster Parents' Night Out is a monthly event, in partnership with Every Child PDX, that provides foster parents with a much-needed 4-hour break while we create a fun, safe, and joy-filled evening for the kids in their care.

You can help by joining the kitchen team, spending time playing and connecting with the kids, or making a financial donation. Every helping hand makes a difference.

Appreciation Events

Sometimes it’s the little things that say the most—like a handwritten note, a treat bag, or a meal delivered to an office. These simple acts of kindness express our deep gratitude to the caseworkers and foster families who serve tirelessly in our community.

Whether you like to bake, craft, clean, or just show up and serve, there’s a place for you here.

With Love

With Love supports foster families with children ages 0 to 6 by providing clothing, supplies, parenting classes, and community connections. Volunteers sort donations, prepare care packages, deliver items, and participate in seasonal drives.

This is a meaningful way to bring dignity and support to young children and their caregivers.

Ready to lend a hand? Contact Laurie McDowell.

The Family Room

The Family Room helps families move toward reunification by creating warm, welcoming spaces for visits between children in foster care and their birth parents. With the support of local churches, these visits feel more like family time, with meals, toys, and kind volunteers making the space feel like home.

You can help by preparing food, volunteering during visits, or simply being a caring presence.

Want to learn more? Contact Kristina Thom or join our virtual volunteer information session on the first Friday of each month.

Respite Care

Respite care provides short-term support to foster and reunifying families by giving caregivers a chance to rest and recharge. Trained respite providers step in to care for children for a few hours or a few days, offering much-needed relief.

Training and support are provided for all respite volunteers.
